Children's Rights

The Full Story

On March 10, 2022 the Health and Human Rights Journal released an article/report entitled "US High-Level Office for Children is Critical for Children’s Rights"  which clarifies primary reasons it is imperative that the United States ratifies the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Children and develops a federal office to oversee the implementation of those rights. This came after a series of intensive workshops hosted by various representatives noted in the report as well as the Harvard School of Public Health, the Dornsife School of Public Health - Drexel University and their Consortium Partners.

As reported:

"In a recent series of workshops to address the lack of leadership for child rights in the United States, our participants identified the need for a high-level federal entity to oversee children’s issues.

The United States remains the only country in the world that has failed to ratify the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).  Adopted 32 years ago, the CRC is the most widely ratified human rights treaty in the world.

Currently, the United States falls short on various social and environmental determinants of child health and well-being, including poverty, health care access, nutrition, homelessness, and separation from family." {Quote-unquote}

Read what the ACLU has to say in their Commentary: "There’s Only One Country That Hasn’t Ratified the Convention on Children's Rights: US" regarding the necessity to ratify the Declaration of the Rights of the Child here in the United States and why it is so important.

As of this writing, November 2022, there are still no initiatives in U.S. federal government to protect the rights of children nor has the CRC been ratified by the U.S. which is a given if we are to begin the long journey of establishing rights of children through the entire "systems" of the United States. This political type "stand still" means great suffering and unjust hardships right here in the U.S. for millions of innocent children who rely on us as adults and as a duty to act in responsible ways which lay down firmer ground for the next generation and which, in itself, would advance the quality of humanity.

The FreeChild Project believes If we are to secure the family structure and foundation necessary in nurturing safe and healthy children then we must begin AT THE TOP and work down within every aspect of every system that affects the children and families. Without the actuality and application of rights children are but slaves to the "system" and whims of whomever, in any "system" at any moment of time.

Hence, our number one goal is to campaign for the U.S. to ratify the CRC and we are developing a list of supporters who may help us achieve that goal through planned conferences and workshops with agencies, organizations, political representatives and individuals throughout the United States through 2023-24.

To initiate that campaign we refer supporters to the first of the 4-book series, "SLAVE IN MODERN AMERICA- From the Eyes of a Child", one of the many books available which depict true stories with grave and horrific examples of why children need more actual rights than what has existed in the U.S.                                                                         We need your help!
